# Access with a personal context

Use Illumina Connected Insights with a personal context from the Product Dashboard.

A personal context provides an individual workspace in Illumina Connected Insights - Cloud. It is available from the Illumina BioSight Platform Product Dashboard.

### Get started

1. Sign up for [Illumina BioSight Platform](https://platform.login.illumina.com/platform-services-manager/?rURL=https://login.illumina.com/platform-home/\&redirectMethod=GET\&clientId=ps-home#/).
2. Verify your email address using the verification email.
3. Sign in to the platform.
4. The platform creates an eight-digit domain and personal context.
5. Select either a trial or pay-as-you-go subscription.
6. After you select a subscription, the Product Dashboard appears.
7. Select the **Illumina Connected Insights** tile.

### Trial access

A trial provides 30 days of application access. A further 30-day grace period follows. If you do not purchase a subscription, access ends after 60 days.

### How personal contexts work

Connected Insights treats your personal context as a virtual workgroup. It is unique to you and uses your user ID as its workgroup ID.

Your virtual workgroup is selected when you open Connected Insights. Projects and access permissions are applied to this personal context. You can then work with cases as usual.

{% hint style="info" %}
Personal contexts support individual work. Use a standard workgroup when you need to share data and assets with other users.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.bioinsight.illumina.com/connected-insights/overview/readme/access-with-a-personal-context.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
